Midway between Old and New Piebalga, at the end of a 100-year-old linden tree alley, stands a two-storied building which functioned as a school for nearly 100 years. Today the building contains an exhibition about the life of the famous Latvian composer Emils Darzins (1875-1910) who was born here into a teacher's family. In the large classroom visitors can listen to melodies compsed by E. Darzins. On the ground floor there is an exhibition dedicated to the Latvian poet Janis Sudrabkalns (1894-1975). |
