Jasmuiza’‘ is set in a picturesque place on the banks of the River Jasa in Latgale, which favoured the creative work of the national poet Rainis. It is the land of his youth, where he spent his school holidays more than a hundred years ago. The exhibition reflects the friendly atmosphere in the poet's family. Rainis also contributed to the collection of folklore of the Latgale region. A vast exhibition of Latgale ceramics, which includes works of masters, is offered to visitors. The museum was opened in 1966. |
