It is situated in the south-west part of Salaspils territory. The length of the island was 8,7 km till the construction of Riga HES dam. At present island’s upper part is overflown by the reservoir of Riga HES, and the length of the remaining part of the island is 5,2 km, width – 2 – 2,5 km. The reservoir is enclosed by the dam, which relative height above the island reaches 10 – 12 m. The area of the island is 975 ha |
