Jurmala Town Museum was opened in 1962. Since then it has changed both its name and location several times. From 1964-1990 the museum was situated at the Dubulti Lutheran Church. At the end of 1997 it moved to a partially renovated house in Tirgonu Street where its first exhibition was opened. The museum has three research specialities: art, the history of the resort, and underwater archaelogy. Temporary exhibitions are displayed on a regular basis, however, the museum does not house a permanent exhibition because of the lack of suitable premises |
