Description
Ludvigs Ernests Berzins (1870-1965) was a celebrated Latvian public figure: theologian, teacher, folklorist and poet. The founder and owner of the museum is L. Berzins' grandson Kristaps Keggi, a professor at Yale University. The museum includes: an exhibition illustrating L. Berzins' life and social activities in Latvia and exile; a display giving an account of the Riga Teacher Training Institute; paintings by Harijs Ebersteins; a library; an exhibition and conference hall. The museum also offers concerts and meetings with writers, poets and artists. It has become a tradition for the museum to organize visual art and recitation competitions for children as well as sacred music festivals
