Latvian Etnografical open air museum is one of the oldest open air museums in Europe. Museum was founded in 1924 century. From 2003, 1 of january museum takes up 84 ha territory, 118 wooden buildings, rustnic, craftsmen, and social buildings which at that time were built in Vidzeme, Kurzeme, Zemgale, Latgale. Museum collection consists of 150000 storing units. From which is exibited over 4000; In scientific archive more than 24000 articles and drawings about old buildings, subjects, positions, country works, people's memory and testimonies; visual materials - foto negative, fotos, cinema and video plots reach more than 80000 documenteries.
