The historian V. Vitols' collection forms the basis of the Kandava Regional Museum. The collections have been supplemented by the donations of the local inhabitants. A vast collection of domestic utensils, tools of rural crafts, clothes and weapons illustrate the everyday life of previous generations. The exhibition covers the Stone Age to the present day, and includes many documents, photographs, banknotes, newspaper cuttings and other rarities. The museum was opened in 1995 |
