Vilaka Castle Ruins

Description

Viļakas castle was built on lake island. At first it was closed monastery, which during 1509 - 1516 was rebuilt into a castle named Marienhauzeni. During Livonian war time in 1582 it was destroyed. The ruins of the castle are found on the siland, in order to see them you will need a boat.
