Description
Daugavas loku nature park in the beginning was found in 1990 of 129,9 km squere area. Park is located in both Daugavas shores region Naujenes, Tabores, Salienes and Vecsalienes pagastā un Krāslavas rajona Kaplavas and Ūdrīša parish. Park was founded to conserve unique and natural Daugavas valley scenery, its valuable nature complexes, plant and animal biological diversity and historical cultural statues. Nature parks most recognizable elements are 8 Daugavas bending regions from Krāslavas to Neujenei. The river bending is 4-8 km, although distance between them is 2-3 km. Bending regions have thier own local names. In nature central area, where Borne, Rudņa, Poguļanka, Mālkalne, Židiņupīte, Balta flows in Daugava. In the park, in Daugavas right shore on Krāslavas region is located geological nature protected objects - Adamovas bluff. In bluffs foundation, 7 meters above Daugavas water level is located 1 -2 meters thick clay leyer, where its been found more than 50 plant breed remains between the ice age. Forests take up 38% from park area. in the park thier is also several protected bird species, 23 archeological statues.
