Apraksts Pļaviņas - vieta Daugavas labajā krastā, kur gaiļa dziedāšanu var dzirdēt vienlaicīgi visos trijos Latvijas apgabalos: Vidzemē, Kurzemē un Latgalē. Ziņas par Pļaviņām ir kopš Polijas - Zviedrijas kara laika (1600 - 1629), kad pie Aiviekstes ietekas Daugavā atradusies zviedru kara nometne un uzceltas skanstis. Pļaviņu pilsētas pirmsākumi meklējami, kad XIX g.s. deviņdesmitajos gados uz Stukmaņu muižas zemes sākās celtniecība. Pilsēta straujāk attīstījās, pateicoties 1861. gadā atklātajai Rigas - Daugavpils dzelzceļa līnijai un 1903. gadā atklātajai Pļaviņu - Gulbenes dzelzceļa līnijai. Gar Daugavas un Aiviekstes krastiem 8 km garumā izstieptā pilsēta vēsturiski sastāv no trim daļām. Braucot no Rīgas, Jūs iebraucat bijušajā Bebrulejā, kur tagad redzama dolomīta pārstrādes ražotne, tālāk nonāksiet pilsētas centrā, kas izvietojies abpus dzelzceļam, un no pilsētas izbraucot, šķērsosiet Gostiņus - pilsētas senāko un savdabīgāko daļu. Pilsētā ir rosīga kultūras dzīve - darbojas kultūras nams un trīs bibliotēkas. |

Pilsēta ir skaista, sakopta, krāšņa un savdabīga. Patika luterāņu baznīcas un būvējama katoļu baznīca. Patika arī ūdenskritums.
Gostiņi ir atsevišķa žīdu tirgotāju pilsētiņa Latgalē, kuru pievienoja Vidzemes Pļaviņām.

pilsetai nav riktiga saimnieka,kas varetu pilsetu savest kartiba.visi doma tikai pa savu kabatu!
