The Mālpils manor complex is a State significance architectural monument having had once 38 buildings, but only 18 have survived up to now. The first living house was built in 1760, in the times of baron von Taube. This is also when the manor park and the pools were set up and ponded. During the revolution of 1905 it was burnt down and was renewed during 1907 - 1911 after the project of the architect Wilhelm Bokslaff. Starting from 1967 the manor premises are used for the Latvian Museum of Melioration and Agriculture. It is the only museum of that kind in Europe. |
