The park was made in 1966 to protect the city from dust and noise coming from the dolomite quarry. In 1987 after the inundation of the quarry it became a water reservoir of 158 ha with 8 islands. The height of the grand stone is 3.1 m, girth - 19.5 m, weight – 220 tonnes. It is probably the second largest grand stone of Latvia. |
