Description
The Red Castle of the Vecgulbene estate is an architectural monument of local importance. It is situated to the south-east from the White Palace in Vecgulbene. The castle was built at the end of the 19th century. It was dedicated to the Baron's (Heinrich von Wolf) wife Marisa. It was built of red bricks - therefore it is called the "Red Castle".
The Baron's love to his wife was immeasurable. A lot of decorative shrubs, flower compositions, often in the form of the letter "M". A greenhouse was also dedicated to her.
