There have been formed numerous karst sinkholes - small lakes - in area of 13 km2. Local people remember several occasions when sinkholes have formed. F.e. the Bideli bath fell underground around 1930; Near Vimbas there caved in a birch-tree, which was standing near bath. This was a large tree but it fell deep, only the top was outside. In inner yard of another farm there caved in a horse, which was pulling cart with potatoes and farmer. Farmer remained sitting in his cart but the horse was in deep hole. Only after digging down one rim of the pit the horse was able to come out. |
