Monument

Monument "To The Killed Soldiers of Latgale Partisans Regiment in 1919 - 1920"

Balvi  >  county > Latgale reg.
Description
Stanislavs, was firstly set up in August 14, 1938. The monument had been removed twice – in 1940 and in 1944. At that time sculptor Kārlis Jansons made in bronze the statue of partisan. Only after a long time, in November 11, 1993 it returned in its place, thus paying homage to memory of liberty fighters of different years. Stanislavs, calling up Balvi people together both in national celebrations and memory events, has become a symbol of liberty for them.
