Description
The only forest museum in North Latvia, Kirbizi Forest Museum, is housed in the 18th -19th century barn of Kirbizi Manor. The four exhibition halls display the varied flora and fauna of the vicinty: protected plants, hunting trophies, stuffed animals and birds, as well as a vast collection of forestry tools. The exhibition gives an insight into the history of Latvian forestry schools and the administration and staff of the coastal forests of the Gulf of Riga since 1921. The Kirbizi forest museum also exhibits horse-drawn means of transport.
