Description
Varaklani Manor-house is one of the most noticeable palaces in Latgale Region and one of the earliest samples of Classicism architecture built in 1783-1789 for count Michael von Borch. Author of project was italian architect Vinchento Macotti, who also has designed romantic style palace garden and landscape park with beautifull system of ponds, canals, bridges, pavilions and sculptures. In the middle of the park there is mighty so-called Love stone. Architectural complex of the manor also includes Classicism style Chapel of St. Victor built in 1814 (architect V. Macotti) with family vault of von Borchs and Rome Chatolic Church built in 1854
