Description
The Balvi Regional Museum is located on the territory of the former Balvi estate (18th-19th centuries). On this territory is a manor house (now a primary school), a granary, an orchard (now a ‘‘Bear Garden’‘ with interesting piles of boulders) and a park on shores of Balvi Lake. Items in the museum collection serve to illustrate the history of the Balvi region from ancient times onwards. These include collections of archaeological items, numismatics and ceramics. The visitor can see the exhibition ‘‘A Weaver's Room’‘ and the permanent exhibition ‘‘Pages in History of the Balvi Region’‘. The museum also exhibits temporary exhibitions on various subjects as well as personal exhibitions
